The renovation begins

From 21 November 2026, the history of mobile travel is making a stop in the old town.

Preparations for our next journey are in full swing: the Erwin Hymer Museum on Robert-Bosch-Straße is being renovated. Behind the construction fence, a new, interactive museum experience is taking shape for everyone who loves being on the move. The reopening is planned for spring 2027.

To keep the history of mobile travel moving in the meantime, it is making a stop at the historic Kornhaus in Bad Waldsee. From 21 November 2026, our pop-up exhibition will feature original vehicles and unusual travel accessories from the 1930s and 1950s. Discover ingenious lightweight designs, the inventions of pioneering caravan builders and the growing desire to travel during Germany’s post-war economic boom.

Admission is free.

At our hands-on station, you can also share your ideas and help shape the future permanent exhibition.
