Where processing is necessary to fulfil a legal obligation, it is based on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR. Data may also be processed on the basis of our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The following sections of this policy explain the legal bases applicable in each individual case.
Recipients of personal data
We work with various external organisations in the course of our business activities. This sometimes requires personal data to be transferred to them. We only disclose personal data to external organisations where necessary to perform a contract, where legally required, for example disclosure to tax authorities, where we have a legitimate interest in disclosure under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or where another legal basis permits it. When using processors, we disclose our customers’ personal data only on the basis of a valid data processing agreement. A joint processing agreement is concluded where processing is carried out jointly.
Withdrawing your consent to data processing
Many processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent already given at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it was withdrawn.
Right to object to data collection in particular circumstances and to direct marketing (Article 21 GDPR)
IF DATA IS PROCESSED ON THE BASIS OF ARTICLE 6(1)(e) OR (f) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THOSE PROVISIONS. THE LEGAL BASIS FOR THE RELEVANT PROCESSING IS SET OUT IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS THE PERSONAL DATA CONCERNED UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS THAT OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION UNDER ARTICLE 21(1) GDPR).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA FOR THAT PURPOSE. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING INSOFAR AS IT RELATES TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL NO LONGER BE USED FOR DIRECT MARKETING (OBJECTION UNDER ARTICLE 21(2) GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
In the event of GDPR infringements, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, particularly in the Member State of their habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement. This right is without prejudice to other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to data portability
You have the right to receive data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract, or to have it supplied to a third party, in a commonly used, machine-readable format. If you request direct transfer to another controller, this will only take place where technically feasible.
Access, rectification and erasure
Within the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of processing, and, where applicable, to rectification or erasure. You can contact us at any time about these rights or other questions concerning personal data.
Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time for this purpose. This right applies in the following cases:

Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Tag Manager is a tool that allows us to integrate tracking tools, statistical tools and other technologies into our website. Google Tag Manager itself does not create user profiles, store cookies or conduct its own analyses. It only manages and delivers the tools integrated through it. However, Google Tag Manager collects your IP address, which may also be transferred to Google’s parent company in the United States.
Google Tag Manager is used on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in quickly and easily integrating and managing various tools on its website. Where consent has been requested, processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 25(1) TDDDG, insofar as consent covers storing cookies or accessing information on the user’s device, such as device fingerprinting, within the meaning of the TDDDG. Every company certified under the DPF undertakes to comply with these standards. Further information is available from the provider at: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/5780.
Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the Google Analytics web analytics service. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics allows the website operator to analyse visitors’ behaviour. The operator receives usage data such as page views, time spent on the site, operating systems used and user origin. This data is assigned to the user’s device. It is not associated with a user ID.
We can also use Google Analytics to record mouse movements, scrolling and clicks. Google Analytics additionally uses various modelling approaches to supplement the collected data sets and employs machine learning technologies in data analysis.
Google Analytics uses technologies that recognise users to analyse user behaviour, such as cookies or device fingerprinting. Information collected by Google about use of this website is generally transferred to and stored on a Google server in the USA.
This service is used on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 25(1) TDDDG. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
Transfers to the USA are based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Details are available here: https://business.safety.google/adscontrollerterms/sccs/.

Every company certified under the DPF undertakes to comply with these standards. Further information is available from the provider at: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/5780.
IP anonymisation
Google Analytics IP anonymisation is enabled. Google therefore truncates your IP address within Member States of the European Union or other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transferring it to the USA. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of this website’s operator, Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity and provide further services relating to website and internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser through Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data.
Browser plugin
You can prevent Google from collecting and processing your data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
More information about how Google Analytics handles user data is available in Google’s privacy information: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
Processing on our behalf
We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
Google Ads
The website operator uses Google Ads, an online advertising programme provided by Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Ads allows us to display advertisements in Google’s search engine or on third-party websites when a user enters particular search terms in Google (keyword targeting). Targeted advertisements may also be displayed using user data held by Google, such as location data and interests (audience targeting). As the website operator, we can evaluate this data quantitatively, for example by analysing which search terms led to our advertisements being displayed and how many advertisements resulted in clicks.
This service is used on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 25(1) TDDDG. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
Transfers to the USA are based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Details are available here: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks and https://business.safety.google/controllerterms/.

Google conversion tracking
This website uses Google conversion tracking. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

For example, we can analyse how often particular buttons on our website are clicked and which products are viewed or purchased most frequently. This information is used to compile conversion statistics. We learn the total number of users who clicked on our advertisements and what actions they performed. We receive no information that allows us to identify users personally. Google itself uses cookies or similar recognition technologies for identification.
This service is used on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 25(1) TDDDG. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

7. Plugins and tools
Google Maps
This website uses the Google Maps mapping service, provided by Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. This service allows us to integrate maps into our website.
Your IP address must be stored to use Google Maps functions. This information is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The website provider has no influence over this transfer. When Google Maps is activated, Google may use Google Fonts to display fonts consistently. When Google Maps is accessed, your browser loads the required web fonts into its cache to display text and fonts correctly.
Google Maps is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online services and to make the locations shown on our website easy to find. This constitutes a legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where consent has been requested, processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 25(1) TDDDG, insofar as consent covers storing cookies or accessing information on the user’s device, such as device fingerprinting, within the meaning of the TDDDG. 8. eCommerce and payment providers
Processing customer and contractual data
We collect, process and use personal customer and contractual data to establish, define and amend our contractual relationships. We collect, process and use personal data about use of this website (usage data) only insofar as necessary to enable the user to use the service or to bill for it. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Customer data collected is erased after completion of the order or termination of the business relationship and expiry of any applicable statutory retention periods. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
9. Our own services
Handling applicant data
We offer you the opportunity to apply for a job with us, for example by email, post or an online application form. The following explains the scope, purpose and use of personal data collected during the application process. We assure you that your data is collected, processed and used in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other statutory provisions and is handled in strict confidence.
Scope and purpose of data collection
If you submit an application, we process the related personal data, such as contact and communication details, application documents and interview notes, insofar as necessary to decide whether to establish an employment relationship. The legal bases are section 26 BDSG under German law (initiating an employment relationship), Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (general steps prior to a contract) and, if you have consented, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent may be withdrawn at any time. Your personal data is disclosed within our organisation only to those involved in handling your application.
If your application is successful, the data you submitted is stored in our data processing systems to implement the employment relationship on the basis of section 26 BDSG and Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
During the application process, we may also research you online, primarily using Google Search, LinkedIn and Xing. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in obtaining an overall impression of publicly available information about you under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Data retention period
If we cannot offer you a position, you decline an offer or withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you submitted for up to six months after the application process ends (rejection or withdrawal) on the basis of our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is then erased and physical application documents destroyed. Retention serves particularly as evidence in the event of a legal dispute. If it is apparent that the data will be needed after the six-month period, for example due to a threatened or pending dispute, it will only be erased once the purpose of further retention no longer applies.
Data may also be retained for longer if you have provided the corresponding consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) or statutory retention obligations prevent erasure.
Inclusion in the applicant pool
If we do not offer you a position, we may be able to include you in our applicant pool. If included, all documents and information from your application are added to the pool so that we can contact you about suitable vacancies.
Inclusion in the applicant pool is based solely on your express consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Consent is voluntary and unrelated to the current application process. You may withdraw your consent at any time. In that case, the data is permanently erased from the applicant pool unless statutory grounds require its retention.
Data in the applicant pool is permanently erased no later than two years after consent is given.
