Travel museum in Bad Waldsee

A home for everyone who loves life on the road

We are getting ready for the next stage of our journey. Our main building on the B30 remains closed for now as we completely redesign the exhibition. From spring 2027, discover a place full of experiences celebrating the fascination of caravanning and motorhome travel.

Until then, our historic vehicles won’t be staying in the garage. Our journey takes us to the old town: visit our special exhibition at the Kornhaus in the heart of Bad Waldsee during the renovation!

May we take you along for the ride?

The Erwin Hymer Museum is more than a traditional factory museum. Everything here revolves around the culture of travel. We connect historic milestones with the modern spirit of life on the road. Across more than 6,000 square metres, discover bold pioneers, special travel memories and, of course, fascinating leisure vehicles.

The museum is run by the charitable Erwin Hymer Stiftung. The foundation preserves the heritage of caravan and motorhome construction and brings it to life for future generations.

Museum of caravanning and motorhome travel

A window to the world

While construction continues inside, our building remains a real eye-catcher. Its architecture consists of two large, connected structures inspired by an upright and a horizontal caravan window. Vast glass surfaces let in the light and offer views of the vehicles from afar. From inside, the view extends over Bad Waldsee and, on clear days, all the way to the Alps. Wanderlust comes naturally here.
